Principal’s Newsletter: March 2019
Dear Orozco Family: I hope that you are doing well as you read these lines. The month of February was a very challenging one as we were short staffed. However, EVERYONE stepped up and contributed to make Orozco Academy an amazing place to be. Habemus Assistant Principal! Mrs. Kristen Meyer will begin Monday and she’s more than ready to go. I’m very thankful for everyone that supported us through the interview process. Of what I’m most proud of is that both parents and students asked about how the new Assistant Principal shows her love for students. At the end of the day, parents –like me—want to know that not only their children are getting a great education, but also they want to feel that their children are loved! The wall-wall EL Gifted Expansion was approved! Thank you for all stakeholders that worked with us (our awesome staff, parents, students, community members and organizations)! Without you, this would have never been possible. Finally, THANK YOU to all the Mamis and Papis Líderes that worked really hard to ensure that our Parent Meeting this last Thursday was the meeting of the year. From long hours of organizing, decorating, getting donors and even performances, our parents have really set Orozco on the map even higher from where it was. As the song says, “I have a very good feeling” that we are on the right track to be one of the best schools in the City.
