Ready to Start!

Kristen Meyer is honored to serve as the new Assistant Principal at Orozco Academy. As an educator with seven years experience in the Chicagoland area, Ms. Meyer has taught both high school and middle school, and has worked as an Instructional Coach at an elementary school in Chicago's Southwest side. Ms. Meyer recently moved back to Chicago from Washington D.C., where she was employed at the Washington D.C. Public Schools central office as the Professional Learning Manager for their Office of Equity.

Ms. Meyer completed her undergraduate degree in Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2016, she completed her Master's degree from Concordia University Chicago in Educational Administration. Currently, Ms. Meyer is a doctoral candidate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the Educational Policy, Organization and Leadership program, and she anticipates completing her dissertation by 2020.

Outside of school and work, Ms. Meyer is an artist specializing in painting and photography. Additionally, she is an avid audiobook listener as well as a independent movie enthusiast.
