Principal's Newsletter / Boletín del Director

Principal’s Newsletter: March 2018
Dear Orozco Family:

Time flies and we are already in March (and Spring Break is around the corner)! There are many activities this month and I want to ensure that everyone is properly informed so they can participate. For example, this Saturday we will have a Garden training at Orozco that is open to the entire community. The training goes from 9:30-3PM. Also, if you ever thought about joining a governing body to make a difference at the school, you should consider applying to be an LSC member. The District extended the deadline to Friday, March 9th. If you don’t want to run, that’s not a problem, but consider encouraging at least one person. Remember, the only requirement to be in the LSC is to want to make a difference for children. Also, on that day, we will have a public CIWP meeting for the entire community starting at 8:30AM. The purpose of this meeting is to gather input from parents and community on how, together, we can make our school better. Finally, the LSC meeting on the 21st is important because we will present the State of the School. Please consider attending to this event so you are informed on our progress.

Spring Break is not until the 26th but I want to suggest to everyone to plan activities with your children during the week. Often, the public library has free passes to the museums and there are many other activities. Ensure you plan with your family so students are busy. I highly encourage to go together to the public library, check out some books and do at least one activity related to them (it could be as simple as talking about what’s being read). A planned week will keep your child away from trouble.

Respectfully,

Respetuosamente,
Efraín Martínez
Director
