I have been a teacher at Orozco Academy since 2009. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After a four years of working in social services (adolescent counselor and case management), I made the decision to pursue a teaching degree. I earned a Master’s of Education Degree from Northern Illinois University in 2010.

I was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. when I was nine years old.  I was immediately enrolled in a CPS school and after only a month in the U.S., I began the 4th grade.
I am proud to be bilingual and bicultural, just like my students.

I walked into Orozco for the first time when I was an adolescent counselor and my first thought when I entered was, “If I ever work at a school, it’d have to be this one.” I was in awe. Fast-forward a few years later and the stars aligned and allowed me an opportunity to begin my teaching career here. I have enjoyed it ever since and feel privileged to work with such phenomenal children and their loving families.

I love spending time with my daughter and my husband, as well as my extended family. I love cooking, trying new recipes, hosting friends/family and eating out.
"When you do good things, good things happen."
