I joined the Orozco family in 2013 as a bilingual special education teacher. I was also the bilingual preschool teacher for the 2013-2014 school year. I have 9 years experiences as a bilingual special education teacher and early educator. I have worked in a variety of districts in the Chicagoland area. I received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in special education from Saint Xavier University. I also have a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, I am working on a PhD in Special Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. As an early childhood teacher, most of my work has focused on children with and without disabilities aged 3-7. My research interests are in the area of bilingual education, reading development, and learning disabilities. I love working with children and believes that with proper support, every student can achieve their goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and trying delicious food. I live with my daughter and husband in the Little Village neighborhood.
