Mrs. Meek joined the Orozco family in October of 2015, as the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Mrs. Meek has 10 years experience educating Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. She began her educational journey at Waubonsee Community College, where she earned her AA in Sign Language Interpreting. Her passion for sign language interpreting, inspired her to continue her education at Mac Murray College where she obtained a BA in Sign Language Interpretation and a BA in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education. After graduating, in 2008, Mrs. Meek taught at Illinois School for the Deaf. She has her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading. She taught at Great Prairie Area Education Agency, in Ottumwa, Iowa, as an Itinerant Deaf Educator. After teaching there for four years, Mrs. Meek moved back to the Chicagoland area and has taught in various districts.
In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and attending church. She is a huge boxing and football fan (Bear Down)!
